To generate long-term value, any advantage based on price or differentiation must be sustainable, meaning it is hard for others to copy or obtain (see also UniqueResources and CoreCompetances in before chapter).

為了獲得長(zhǎng)期的價(jià)值，價(jià)格和差異化的優(yōu)勢(shì)必須是可持續(xù)的，這樣別人才很難復(fù)制（包括獨(dú)特資源和核心競(jìng)爭(zhēng)力等）。

1) Companies may achieve sustainable competitive advantage by lock-in, when their product becomes the industry standard and other products must be compatible with it. Lock-in may be one aspect of first mover advantage.一種實(shí)現(xiàn)可持續(xù)競(jìng)爭(zhēng)優(yōu)勢(shì)的方式是“鎖定”，讓自己的產(chǎn)品成為行業(yè)標(biāo)準(zhǔn)，這樣其他產(chǎn)品必須來(lái)兼容它。鎖定往往是行業(yè)先驅(qū)的優(yōu)勢(shì)。

2) Certain industries experience constant competitive change known as hyper competition. This makes it much harder to achieve sustainable competitive advantage and companies must be prepared to make regular changes to their strategy to succeed.某些行業(yè)的經(jīng)驗(yàn)是不斷競(jìng)爭(zhēng)變化，稱(chēng)為超競(jìng)爭(zhēng)，這就需要企業(yè)隨時(shí)做好準(zhǔn)備來(lái)改變戰(zhàn)略以獲得成功。

3) Sustaining competitive advantage may involve collaboration with customers, suppliers and even potential competitors. (there is a fuller discussion of “boundary-less organisations” in later)可持續(xù)的競(jìng)爭(zhēng)優(yōu)勢(shì)需要客戶(hù)，供應(yīng)商和潛在競(jìng)爭(zhēng)對(duì)手的協(xié)作。
